Subfloors

The subfloor as well as the room climate conditions must meet the requirements of the applicable standards and data sheets. Subfloors must be permanently dry, solid, level, free from cracks, dirt and adhesion-inhibiting substances. Apply appropriate Wakol levelling compounds to severely uneven subfloors. The technical information on the primers and levelling compounds must be heeded.

Usage

Bonding the footfall soundproofing mat:

Bond footfall soundproofing mat close together on the appropriately prepared subfloor, at a right angle to the direction of the flooring strip, using the same adhesive used to bond the top covering. Apply the adhesive with a TKB A2, B1 or B2 notched trowel (parquet). Fit the soundproofing mat once the corresponding airing time has passed and press down well. After a short time press, it down. The top covering can be laid the next day, after the adhesive has set.

Bonding the top covering:

Before laying PVC and CV flooring or rubber and linoleum flooring, level the soundproofing mat using WAKOL D 3060 Plastification Additive.

Sand the levelling compound layer once it has hardened. Textile flooring, laminate and parquet are bonded directly to the soundproofing mat without the use of levelling compound.

Important

Processing not below floor temperature of +15 °C and room temperature of +18 °C, as well as room humidity preferably between 40 % and 65 %, maximum 75 %. All information is based on approx. 20 °C and 50 % relative air humidity. Warm up all laying materials in due time in heated room.

We recommend using suitable oils or waxes to treat the surface after laying mosaic and onedge lamella parquet as well as solid wood planks. If a coating is to be used, first clarify its suitability for parquet bonding on an elastic underlay mat.
