More than 3% Screed Residual Moisture Content

Installation of Engineered Oak Flooring with moisture content of screed above 3%

Measure the moisture content of the concrete screed using a concrete Tramex meter. If the MC is higher than 3% but lower than 4.5 %: 1 Coat of Wakol PU 280 will be required. If the MC is higher than 4.5% but lower than 6.0 %: 2 Coats of Wakol PU 280 will be required. MC of above 6% moisture content, installation not permitted.

Application of Wakol Pu 280 Moisture Barrier – ensure screeed is level, 3mm variation per 3m length

Application method

WAKOL Primer Roller, short haired velour, or foam roller.

Consumption

Approx. 100-150 g/m² as primer (one coat).

Approx. 250/350 g/m² as moisture barrier (two coats). Second coat in opposite direction to the first coat.

Drying Time

Approx.40-50 minutes per coat.

Application method

Apply using WAKOL Trowel B 13

Approx. 800-1000 g/m2 (Small-sized multi-layer parquet )
Approx. 1000-1200 g/m2 (Small-sized multi-layer parquet)
Approx. 1100-1300 g/m2 (Small-sized multi-layer parquet)
Approx. 1400-1500 g/m2 (Large-sized multi-layer parquet)

Approx. 24 – 48 hours

Installation of flooring using rubber mallets that do not mark the surdace, and then weight the floor if necessry
